If you have had unprotected intercourse within the last 72 hours and do not wish to become pregnant, Hope Medical Group can provide emergency contraception. The fee for this service (often termed the "morning after pill" or “Plan B”) is $50 and includes a pregnancy test. This service is provided Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 4:30, and Saturdays from 8:30 to noon.
If you are unable to make it to Hope Medical Group, you can now receive emergency contraception over-the-counter at a pharmacy. However, you must be 18 or older to receive it from a pharmacist. Pharmacists (in general) charge in the neighborhood of $40-$50 for emergency contraception. We advise that you call the pharmacy before traveling as some pharmacists have a “moral objection” to dispensing birth control (emergency contraception is a high dosage of birth control hormones) and thus do not give out emergency contraception.
