If you have had unprotected intercourse within the last 72 hours and do not wish to become pregnant you may want to consider emergency contraception. Although emergency contraception is not offered at Hope, it it is now available without a prescription at most pharmacies if you are 18 or older. If you are under the age of 18 a prescription is required. We suggest you call the pharmacy before traveling as some pharmacists have a “moral objection” to dispensing birth control (emergency contraception is a high dosage of birth control hormones) and thus do not dispense emergency contraception.
